About Planetary Hours

How it works – and how to use it

Planetary hours are an old timing system: each day is split into 24 unequal "hours" (12 in daylight, 12 at night), and each hour is linked to one of the seven classical planets. This app calculates them for your location and turns them into plain-language timing you can use in real life.

The day is sunrise to sunrise

The "planetary day" starts at sunrise, not midnight. From sunrise to sunset you get 12 day hours; from sunset to the next sunrise you get 12 night hours. Each hour has a different length (longer in summer, shorter in winter) because they’re based on real daylight at your location.

The day ruler starts the cycle

Each weekday is ruled by a planet: Sunday ☉ Sun, Monday ☽ Moon, Tuesday ♂ Mars, Wednesday ☿ Mercury, Thursday ♃ Jupiter, Friday ♀ Venus, Saturday ♄ Saturn. The first hour of the day (from sunrise) is ruled by that day’s planet; the next 23 hours follow the classical Chaldean order: Saturn → Jupiter → Mars → Sun → Venus → Mercury → Moon, then repeat.

What each planet supports

  • SaturnEndings, discipline, banishing, karma
  • JupiterGrowth, luck, expansion, wisdom
  • MarsFight, courage, action, war
  • SunPower, glory, vitality, success
  • VenusLove, charm, beauty, attraction
  • MercuryTalk, deals, writing, travel
  • MoonDreams, intuition, emotions, secrets

How the app uses this

You tell the app your location (or let it detect it) so sunrise and sunset are correct for you. It then computes all 24 planetary hours for today and tomorrow. You see the current hour and its "vibe" (e.g. Jupiter hour = growth & luck), plus settings, talisman ideas, and optional AI readings for that hour.

The "What do you seek?" goal picker maps your aim to a planet: grow, talk, fight, love, end, dream, or power. The app highlights the best upcoming hours and dates for that goal. You can add a full day’s planetary hours to your calendar (Pro) or get a notification when the hour changes.

On top of that, the app shows the Moon phase and the current zodiac season, plus a block for your sign: birthdate or sign, daily horoscope-style insight, and comparison with another sign (elements, compatibility, best lane). Everything is designed so you can use planetary hours, Moon, and zodiac together without needing to be an astrologer.

FAQ

Questions people usually ask

Do I need to know astrology to use this?

No. You pick what you want to do – grow, talk, end, love, and so on – and Planetary Hours translates the sky into plain language timing suggestions.

What happens when Pro runs out?

Nothing breaks. Your data and free features stay. Pro adds deeper readings and exports on top of the core app.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel whenever you want. Changes take effect for the next billing period.

Is this “fortune telling” or something more practical?

Planetary Hours is about timing, not predicting your fate. It highlights hours that traditionally support certain actions, and you decide how to use them in your real life – writing, working, talking, resting.

Will it spam me with notifications?

No. Notifications are optional and under your control. You can enable or disable them for planetary hour changes, and turn them off completely at any time.

What data do you store about me?

Planetary Hours needs your location and basic preferences to calculate hours and show relevant insights. There is no social feed, no advertising tracker, and you can export your data if you ever want to leave.

Can I use this alongside my existing calendar or task app?

Yes. You can export planetary hours as calendar events and keep using your normal tools. Planetary Hours is designed to sit beside your workflow, not replace it.
